To the original
I used it to convert my Gary Fisher MTB to a 2x8 Alfine. Works great.
On the riser bar, the shifter's thumb lever is a bit long and interferes with grasping the handlebars. Moving it wasn't optimal either because of the bow on the riser. I just shortened the lever a bit, now it fulfills its purpose very satisfactorily.
