Shimano's further development of the XT M780 rear derailleur is suitable for both 2x10 and 3x10 combinations. In order to minimise the attack surface on demanding trails, the rear derailleur was further reduced. However, this does not detract from reliability and precision.

On the whole a perfect rear derailleur for a 10er cassette, but one should be specified how big is the distance between the rollers. Then one could imagine if a medium or long cage is necessary.
