Shimano Ice-Tech Technology 
Fading of the brakes during longer uninterrupted use, for example when descending, greatly impairs braking performance. Shimano has introduced brake discs and pads with Ice-Tech technology to create cooling technology for consistently high braking performance. The brake disc has a three-layer sandwich structure made of stainless steel on the outside and aluminium in the core. It radiates heat better and reduces the surface temperature from 400° to 300°, for example. In addition, the brake pads have cooling fins. The design of the disc in combination with the cooling fins results in a longer pad life, less brake noise, less fading and a lower weight.
