Polymer - Coated Cable
The secret is a polymer coating that, under a microscope, looks like tubing wrapped around the cable. This provides a smaller surface area that rubs against the inner housing lining. Grease is also retained longer. The main benefits are much less effort required to shift gears and the feeling of faster shifts, as well as more braking power with much less effort at the brake lever.

OT-SP41 outer casing
The OT-SP41 has a special silicone lubricant pre-lubricated along the entire length of the outer sleeve for fast, precise shifting. The OT-SP41 reduces friction losses of the inner cable to an absolute minimum so that shifting is fast-responding and effortless. The driver is relieved by the elimination of shifting delays and high effort during shifting, especially in terrain that requires frequent shifting or on the long haul.
