The new Dura Ace from Shimano answers the question of many pros and ambitious amateurs as to whether and how the current, immensely high level of performance could be further increased. Each individual Dura Ace R9100 component is designed to work as efficiently as possible with all other components of the system. This shows the core of Shimano's component-developed-as-a-system philosophy particularly clearly. The result is called SYSTEM SUPREMACY - the superiority of the system over the sum of the individual parts.
The new Dura Ace pedal from Shimano is the answer to lightness and efficiency. It impresses through its optimised ratio of weight and stiffness, which is achieved via an injection-moulded pedal body made of carbon composite material. In order to achieve optimum power transmission and stability, Shimano uses an extra wide contact area. The developers at Shimano achieve a better load distribution with a larger bearing distance, which significantly increases the longevity of the pedal.
injection-molded pedal body made of carbon composite material
improved ratio of weight and stiffness
wide bearing spacing for better load distribution
wide contact area for stability and power transmission
That's the best thing about RR Pedals, which is currently on the market. For MTB I prefer TIme Atac, the clicker even better and a, even in the full mud. But for the road the DuraAce are just great.
