Product description
Shimano Dura-Ace RS900 Shift Cable Set red (red)
The new Shimano Dura-Ace RD-R9100 rear derailleur has to be mounted on the bike with a special OT-RS900 outer cover. The trick with Shimano's polymer coating is that it reduces surface friction on the liner and keeps the grease in place for longer. The significant advantages are significantly lower shifting forces and perceived faster shifting operations.
Advantages of the OT-RS900
The standard OT-SP41 outer cover is too stiff for the new Dura-Ace rear derailleur, therefore it needs an outer cover, which allows the best performance for a smaller radius without causing technical problems and means a quick installation and removal of the rear wheel is not a costly process. This is made possible by Shimano's OT-SR900 outer casing, which has a lower stiffness.
Tip:
The OT-RS900 should only be used on the rear derailleur side.
