This is more than clearly underpinned by the features of this new groupset. To ensure that the new SAINT sets standards even under the toughest conditions in downhill races, the component group was developed in close cooperation with professional racers such as Aaron Gwin and Gee Atherton. These riders provided Shimano engineers and designers with invaluable input on where and how to further improve Saint to get the best performance on the track.
The Shimano engineers have dealt intensively with the enormous forces that act on the crank in gravity disciplines and decided on a steel axle and pedal threaded sleeves to take this into account. Nevertheless it was possible to undercut the weight of the previous Saint Kurbel by using Hollowtech II technology and a lighter four-arm spider construction.

I have the new Saints added, since I wanted to try the new simply times.Technisch there is really nothing to mäkeln. The Saint is Shimano technically at top level. The processing really first class.
Visually, I was somewhat disappointed. The previous model was simply nicer. The old Saint lettering was simply nobler. Although the caps of the new are a nice optical gimmick, but really are not necessary, just when you want to see the chainring screws.
I do not regret the purchase, but the optically Shimano could still make a lot.

Nice easy run but it could be slightly lighter.
But the few grams more give proper stability and therefore I can only recommend the Saint crank.
