ICE TECHNOLOGIES
Fading of the brakes during prolonged uninterrupted operation, e.g. downhill riding, impairs braking performance. For this reason, Shimano has introduced brake discs and pads with ICE TECHNOLOGIES to create cooling technology for consistently high braking performance. The brake disc has a three-layer sandwich structure of stainless steel on the outside and an aluminium core. It radiates heat better and reduces, for example, the surface temperature from 400 to 300 degrees. There is also a cooling fan on the brake lining. The design of the disc in conjunction with the cooling fins results in longer pad life, less braking noise, less fade and a lower weight.

One-Way Bleeding
The One-Way ventilation was developed to be able to quickly and without issue prevent air from going into the hydraulic system. Shimano has optimised the flow path of the brake fluid throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from settling in the system. The one-way mineral oil filling funnel provides clean, trouble-free bleeding.
