SRAM Rival
About the brand
SRAM LLC, set up in 1987, is a privately held bicycle component company based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Also, SRAM is an abbreviation consisting of the names of the firms founders, Scott, Ray, and Sam (where Ray is Stan Day's middle name). So, SRAM was developed in 1987 with a single device, the Grip Shift (or twist shift) shifter, and presented it to the road bike marketplace in 1988. That technology began for mountain bikes in 1991, and then SRAM soon grew.
