Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX Luggage Carrier Bag black (black)

The MTX TrunkBag DX bag has a split main compartment, two side pockets with zippers and a bottle holder. The unique design of the bag combines pre-formed panels with flexible fabric for a robust and water-repellent unit. Compatible with all MTX QuickTrack rails. The rail is not included in the scope of delivery.

The RX series was designed especially for road cyclists and riders with light hybrid or fitness bikes. All RX TrunkBags are compatible with the RX rail system. They are not compatible with the MTX system.

Had my bag for six months. Have dropped 2 bottles from the bottle holder, during travel. Uses the bag for bike commuting to and from work. The large compartment fits well for my lunch boxes and other food that is brought along. Can't fit the change in it though. The bag wants to come off the rack when it's not smooth terrain, but solved that with a rubber strap with hooks that attached to the loop of the carrying strap, and then attached to the saddle. The side pockets are completely redundant as they take up too much space in the large compartment if you put things in them. I continue to use the bag as it is good for what I have it for - but not completely optimal. You can simply put it over according to your own needs.

in itself i like the bag very much. it offers space for minimal luggage (e.g. swimwear, a bicycle lock, wallet and telephone as well as a windbreaker) but then it will soon be full. the beverage holder at the back has its pitfalls, a nice drinking bottle fell out after driving over a curb - the holder is simply not stable enough for mountain bike use. I have now helped with an additional fastening tape, but that means an additional handle every time. The free pocket above also has its pitfalls, I lost a few flip-flops on a path through the forest, even though they were pretty stuck inside. the zipper looks like it could be a weak point. Pushing it onto the "Topeak MTX BeamRack EX E-Type" works very well, when pulling it off you have to make sure that the bike is secure, because you need either a lot of practice or both hands to pull it off. Conclusion: everything that is not in the bag itself can be lost. the bag takes the strain off your back and that is worth a lot. if you have a lot to transport, you definitely need something bigger.
