One look through the range, and it’s clear that Votec’s high-end mountain bikes are in a class of their own. Whether you’re looking to get into mountain biking with a first reasonably priced hardtail, or an experienced downhill rider looking for a bomb-proof machine to tackle the wildest, fastest trails, there’s something for you. Designed and developed in Germany, Votec bikes are put through some of Europe’s most stringent tests for safety and reliability, with all frames guaranteed against manufacturing defects (10 years for aluminium and 6 for carbon). Why a VX?

A great all-mountain bike is a must-have for any serious mountain biker. At home in a range of off-road applications, the VX excels at steep ascents, rocky and unpredictable descents and longer days in the saddle exploring high-altitude landscapes. The 29” wheelset allows you to roll smoothly and confidently over even the roughest of trail debris. The 140mm travel front fork and 135mm rear suspension provide enough shock absorption for the rockiest of trails, while still ensuring a nimble and agile ride quality.

A fully-featured full suspension frame

All three bikes from the VX range of 29er all-mountain bikes are built around Votec’s VX AL6061-T6 Boost148 aluminium frame. Lightweight and stiff, the frame has several contemporary features that will appeal to every serious trail rider. Internal gear, brake and dropper seatpost cable routing come as standard. All bikes can accommodate 27.5”+ wheels, should you want to run some really fat rubber for a different ride feel. The integrated flip chip means that when you do switch over to 27.5+, you can adjust the bike’s geometry to perfectly fit the smaller rim size. The Boost 148 standard allows a wider hub for a greater spoke angle resulting in a stronger, stiffer wheel.

Great hardware as standard

Like all Votec ranges, VX bikes come fitted with typically high-end components. With the top-of-the-range Elite, no expense has been spared in outfitting the bike with some of the best MTB components available. The high-end Pro is completely ready for any trail you can throw at it with its powerful, modern equipment. The Comp is a competent all-mountain bike with hard-wearing and dependable equipment at a truly unbeatable price.

All three models have 140mm forks with newer, wider boost spacing for increased wheel stability, stiffness and better handling. Tubeless ready wheelsets and Schwalbe tyres come standard, as well as SRAM Guide or Magura MT5 hydraulic disk brakes for effortless, dependable stopping no matter how crazy the trail gets. 2x11 or 1x12 groupsets from Shimano or SRAM that have enough gears for effortless climbing on the steepest of ascents. Dropper seatposts are also provided on all bikes. Finally, all models come bundled with tubeless valves, Schwalbe DocBlue sealant and a digital suspension pump.
