Product Description

The VOTEC VXs is as much bike as you will ever need to conquer any trail, push up ramps and play with the terrain. It uses the riding stability provided by the large wheels to remain strong and precise in all situations. From marathon races or alpine crosses to trail-action, the VXs is the fast ace up your sleeve.

The new VXs offers 120 mm drive-neutral travel with the latest suspension technology from Rock Shox and FOX in the short-stroke s version. The redesigned frame is built to Boost dimensions and offers massively increased tyre clearance. As a result, it not only accepts standard 29" wheelsets but also comfortably fits 27.5” Plus wheels too.

In combination with the standard Boost fork, each VXs can also be used as a plus bike; just add a second wheelset. A flip chip at the rear allows geometry adjustments to better suit your riding style and slightly smaller 27.5” Plus wheels. Even the modern geometry – including a long reach, steep seat angle and moderate-flat steering angle – guarantee the right mix of propulsion and playfulness. In all versions of this model, quality components support its fast and agile character. A 2x11 or 1x12 drivetrain provides a wide variety of gear options. Tubeless-optimised wheelsets from SRAM, Raceface and DT-Swiss always come with wide rims and tyres. A high-quality remote seatpost, snappy disc brakes, Ergon, LevelNine and Race Face components all complete this lightweight bike.

The VOTEC VX with its slacker geometry, added shock travel and specially adapted equipment, makes more reserves available for rougher riding styles than the VOTEC VXs. Alternatively, those looking for improved agility with comparable dynamics will find it in the 140 mm VOTEC VMs model with 27.5" wheels.

Meanwhile, the bike is built. It is a really nice frame that fits very well with my fork. I would like to attach a photo. Fork: RockShox RS-1 (black7grey), Shift: SRAM 1x12 (Sprocket Eagle, Cassette GX, Chain XX1 gold), Derailleur / Shifter XTR / 12), Bowden cable outer cover Gore Ride On, Bottom Bracket SRAM DUB BSA, Crank Truvativ 170, Brake : AVID XO Carbon, wheels Fulcrum RED HP rear, DT Swiss XR 1501 PS front), Tires: Schwalbe Big One SnakeSkin 60-622, Parts: Seatpost Syncros Carbon, Stem Carbon 17 * 120mm, Handlebar Carbon Rise 760, Saddle SQlab 611 Carbon , Handlebar grips Ergon. LR 142 adapted to Boost 148. 12.9Kg. including Shimano clipless pedals. This is the first development stage ;-) Changes are likely to follow: possibly lowerable seatpost, Lightweight tubes, Evtl Big One Liteskin. Brake works, but will switch to Shimano in the medium term, because on all bikes the Avid proved to be problematic (Elixir, Guide, XO and XX). Setting up the Kombi XTR / Eagle was not easy, but it is currently working satisfactorily.

Gabel: RockShox RS-1 (black7grey), Schaltung: SRAM 1x12 (Kettenrad Eagle, Kassette GX, Kette XX1 gold), Schaltwerk/Shifter XTR/12), Bowdenzug Aussenhülle Gore Ride On, Innenlager SRAM DUB BSA, Kurbel Truvativ 170, Bremse: AVID XO Carbon, Laufräder Fulcrum RED HP hinten, DT Swiss XR 1501 PS vorne), Reifen: Schwalbe Big One SnakeSkin 60-622, Parts: Sattelstütze Syncros Carbon, Vorbau Carbon 17* 120mm, Lenker Carbon Rise 760, Sattel SQlab 611 Carbon, Lenkergriffe Ergon.

Good frame, in the offer completely perfect in terms of price / quality. First my own hardtail converted, drive fantastic, even 1 for my wife ordered eventually.

The frame itself, I can not rate yet, because I STILL do not hold him in the hand. BUT: After some research and contact with VOTEC (whoever is behind it ;-)) I have the information that the frame itself (VX and VXs) are identical (2017 - not the old VX). The different geo-data are caused by the damper or change on the FlipChip. It is therefore possible to build and drive the frame first as VXs with 120/120 and later to convert and drive it with other damper / fork (185-55 instead of 185-50) as 140/135. For ME, this was a crucial piece of information, as I was undecided between VX and VXs - in the end it was a decision between RS Super Deluxe 185x55 (135mm) without compression adjustment and RS Deluxe RT (120mm). Otherwise, I find it visually appealing and has potential, although it does not seem to be quite easy. :-) ... vllt this info helps one or the other ;-)
