Winora is a German bike producer that saw the light of day already back in 1914. With a long history, they are now as modern as ever, with regular bikes and e-bikes in their portfolio. High-end bikes with stylish designs are their strength, as it has been since 1914.
Windora Electric Bikes
Winora electric bikes are perfect for a light bicycle ride as well as transport. It will feel like a second car, only cheaper to use! The bikes have an alloy frame of high quality with a solid fork. The bikes have ample carrying capacity in a metal basket up front as well as the back, that comes with an easy-to-clean plastic bucket. The advantage here is that the load is carried by the frame instead of the fork, so it can hold much more without affecting your overall bicycle steering experience.
Winora Electric Bikes offer supreme practicality. A double kickstand makes sure the bike does not fall to either side and offers extra sturdiness for loading your goods. Winora include a lock on the frame, that keeps it secure while away from the bike. For maximum power output onto the wheels, two 24" wheels roll smoothly along the road. They are sturdy and withstand cracks in the road and small objects without adding any discomfort to your experience. There are also mud-guards to make sure you stay clean on those rainy days or on dirty roads. The e-bikes also have lights on them, connected to the motor, and can be used from the control unit. Hydraulic brakes on the rims offer firm, easy and efficient braking. Make sure to check your pads regularly as they need to be replaced regularly based on use.
Bosch Intuvia, a drive used in Winora Electric Bikes is a drive system of high quality. It is fully sealed to secure from splashes, and the torque sensor as well as the drive motor are included inside the housing. The battery is mounted on the frame on the down tube, and the control unit is on the steering bar. A speed sensor is mounted on the rear wheel, the wires on the e-bikes run along the inside of the frame.
When bicycling, 250W of power assists you on your ride, and comes in handy on those steep hills. Four modes, Eco, Tour, Sport and Turbo give you adjusted assisting power based on your needs. The control unit lets you seamlessly swap between these, as well as showing you speed and battery level. The power is added to the Eco and Tour mode seamlessly, you cannot even feel it. Sport and Turbo gives a noticeable kick and provide ample power to your labour. Even fully loaded on heavy trips, the range is up to 50km on a fully charged battery.
Side notes and conclusion
As with any product, there will always be some downsides. The only one on these bikes is that they are rather big and heavy. It's not easy to carry, and thus does not go well with carrying up any stairs. If you live high up in a building, I sure hope you have a lockable storage option downstairs! These are versatile bikes, and work well with everyday life. Easy, fun, and of high quality. Prices vary, but are not too intimidating, as the bikes require very low maintenance!
