The term drirelease describes a group of functional fibres for leisure and sportswear. Hydrophobic (water-repellent) and hydrophilic fibres (those that absorb water well) - usually 85% polyester and 15% cotton - are processed into one fabric. This combines the advantages of both materials: drirelease absorbs moisture very quickly and transports it away from the body. Drirelease dries up to four times faster than fabrics made of pure cotton. In addition, drirelease cools the body noticeably due to its high evaporation activity. Drirelease shirts do not look like typical functional textiles and come very close to the look of a casual T-shirt. That's why these comfortable and dry shirts are not only popular for cycling.
