The handle body for the GP1 BioKork handle consists of 40% Biokork. The material for the handle body comes from organic cultivation in Portugal and meets strict ecological guidelines. All parts of the handle are consistently manufactured with ecological sustainability in mind. The BioKork handle is the result of the Ergon initiative "GreenLab".
The GreenLab initiative sets strong accents in Ergon development with the aim of combining the aspects of ergonomics, performance and ecology in products. It was launched by Ergon in 2010 and has produced numerous product innovations, from biocompostable packaging and organic handle compounds to the use of vegetable-grown leather from Allgäu organic cows.

In terms of ergonomics, the handles are ok. The look is ok, but the feel is disappointing. At best, it is cork granules embedded in plastic. Feels rather sticky. Therefore not recommended and too expensive. Didn't notice until after installation.

I had this type of grip on an old bike. My new WINORA bike had "ergonomic" handles, but nothing to do with ERGON handle comfort. I am very satisfied during my 2 hours of daily trips.
