In spring, summer (and even autumn!), the weather is often ideal for a multi-day bike trip. But you're going to need to take some luggage with you. This is best transported in panniers on your rear rack. Trekking or city bikes often come with rear racks as standard, which can carry 25 kg or more. But, if you want to travel with your cross or mountain bike (hardtail), you'll usually need a rear rack fitted.
