Mavic Crossmax SL Front Wheel 29" Boost Disc CL

The Crossmax SL is Mavic's most advanced aluminium cross-country wheel. For all ambitious XC racers, this lightweight, efficient 29” wheel offers the most user-friendly of all tubeless systems at an affordable price point.

The Crossmax name has a long history in the world of XC riding and racing, and the new Crossmax SL lives up to this heritage. It offers many of the proven Mavic technologies at an affordable price. With a weight of only 1700 g, it is a real all-rounder and the best aluminium XC wheel in its category. The rims are made with patented Fore technology, which features a fully sealed upper rim bridge that eliminates the need for rim tape. This saves 30 grams per wheel, not to mention the annoying use of tape to mount tubeless tyres. The rim has an inner width of 25 mm with a durable hookless profile. Black Shield technology gives it a distinctive, modern look that protects against scratches and abrasions. Mavic uses 24 straight-pull spokes (equal spoke length throughout) for a strong connection between rim and hub and a perfect balance between efficiency and durability. Special machining on the hub ensures that the spoke head is secured, but can still move in the slot. This allows the wheel to absorb shock from trail obstacles. The Instant Drive 360 wheel combined with QRM Auto bearing technology provides fast engagement and added durability. It is only available with 6-bolt or centre-lock brake discs in 29" and is compatible with a 15 x 110 front axle and 12 x 148 rear axle. It comes with valves, spare spokes and accessories.

Fore technology reduces rim weight and increases stability. Omitting the rim tape saves 30 g/rim. The 25-mm wide hookless rim profile is optimised for lower tyre pressures – creating better grip in all conditions. Designed for modern XC tubeless tyres from 2.1 to 2.30". Black Shield treatment protects the rim from impacts and scratches. Completely airtight rim (thanks to Fore technology even without rim tape) makes installation and changing tubeless tyres particularly easy. The outer rim base without holes increases the rigidity and durability of the rim.
