The trend towards the Balloonbike began ten years ago with the Big Apple: comfortable cycling without any complicated technology! The air cushion of the tyres is used as natural suspension. At approx. 2 bar, a Balloonbike rolls wonderfully light and with full suspension. A normal tyre with a width of 37 mm has to be inflated with 4 bar to be able to roll similarly well.

Active Line
The framework of all Active Line tyres is the high-quality 50 EPI carcass. Rough 20 or 24 EPI carcasses are no longer available from Schwalbe. In addition, K-Guard provides effective puncture protection for all Active Line tyres. Puncture protection level: 3.

K-Guard
The Schwalbe minimum standard for protective belts. Proven for many years. The belt is made of natural rubber and reinforced with Kevlar fibres. Together with the 50 EPI carcass, all Active Line tyres are optimally protected against punctures.

Schwalbe Basic Compound: The versatile quality compound for all applications.

TwinSkin
An additional rubber coating on the side protects against cuts and enables an even colouring.

E-Bike Ready 25 - Do you need special tyres for e-bikes?
For normal pedelecs with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h, the law does not prescribe special tyres. However, even with these bikes, loads and average speeds are higher than with normal bikes, which is why Schwalbe only recommends certain tyres as "E-Bike Ready 25".
