Ortler Summerfield - For driving pleasure with style
The Summerfield brings a little summer freshness to the Ortler range, which is otherwise characterised by visual restraint. The typical quality is not compromised in either the elegantly curved frame or the equipment. And yet the 7-speed Summerfield offers extremely much cycling pleasure in its price range. Comfortable pedalling is the paradediscipline of the stylish city bike - not speed bolts. In an upright seating position with a good overview in city traffic, you roll confidently over paved and unpaved roads.
The 50 mm wide Schwalbe tires on the 28" wheels not only look great, they offer noticeably more shock absorption than narrower tires and are perfectly complemented by the well-suspended saddle. Also painted in the frame colour are the sturdy luggage rack and the large chain guard. A permanently installed lighting system is powered by the hub dynamo on the front wheel. The 7-speed hub gears offer almost maintenance-free gear changes over long periods of time. V-brakes at the front & rear wheel as well as an additional back pedal always decelerate the Summerfield safely. Side stand, bell and so on make Ortler's pleasure bike functionally complete. The exclusive look across all attachments speaks for itself and is sure to find numerous admirers.

The construction was easy. Nice bike and not too heavy. The height (RH 45cm) is great for my wife (1.60m), but the luggage rack no longer fits if you want to put the pre-assembled saddle further down than delivered.
We can't get a Römer Jockey child seat attached either, since the rods would then be in the way and the guide tubes for the construction train would have to be sawed off.
Otherwise very satisfied so far.
