Zipp 858 NSW Clincher Wheelset Disc CL Tubeless Shimano 10/11/12-speed

Derived from the 808 NSW and optimized for disc brake use, the Zipp 858 NSW Disc wheelset with tubeless (Center Lock) clincher redefines the aesthetics and behavior of high performance wheels. To create this unique wheelset, the brand's engineers looked at nature and were inspired by the humpback whale and the texture of a shark's skin, in order to find technologies to reduce the aerodynamic resistance and the lateral forces to which any bike wheel is subjected. The result is quite surprising on this 858 NSW Disc, which has a wavy, sawtooth profile that varies in height between 77 and 82mm. On the surface, the rim features a HexFin ABLC golf ball-like coating with slightly recessed hexagonal patterns, which help reduce aerodynamic drag and improve stability in crosswinds.

Zipp's engineers have also paid particular attention to the hubs to further improve the aerodynamic behaviour of the whole by reducing turbulence with a 36-point axial clutch technology at the rear wheel. This system also has the advantage of reducing the effect of friction during freewheeling phases, to allow the small gains that make all the difference in a performance objective. Finally, a small detail that shows the exceptional quality of the whole, the graphics are not in the form of stickers but are printed directly on the rim using Zipp Impress technology. The weight of the wheel is thus reduced to a minimum, and its style is preserved! Incredibly powerful, this model is even stiffer than the 808 NSW, but also more technically and physically demanding, and will prove to be particularly suitable for flat and extremely rolling courses.
