For instance, wheel motors drive from the front wheel, whereas mid-drive motors are attached to the bottom bracket instead. The former is perfect for use through urban terrain, whereas the latter is much better for long or steep inclines when out on rugged terrain.
Similarly, it's important to consider the battery as well. Some bikes can be charged easily at home, great for short runs throughout the town. For longer, off-roading options, it's better if you ensure the battery life is longer so that you don't get stuck in the middle of nowhere.
