Race-Series Vulcanized Clincher with Nylon Carcass
Vulcanised tyres made of natural rubber score with a very good price-performance ratio and high durability at the expense of comfort and performance. Nylon is a carcass braid that is available in three main thread sizes - 33, 60 and 120 TPI (threads per inch) - and is wrapped around a wire or aramid bead. The nylon braid is dipped into a bath of butyl rubber and then calendered (squeezed) between large steel rollers to produce the finished carcass. In bicycle tyres, nylon offers a first-class cost-benefit ratio due to its low price and comparatively simple processing.

Vulcanised synthetic rubber
