Vectran Breaker
Vectran is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber with a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran have enormous tensile strength at very low weight. Exactly the right properties to be used as a puncture protection insert in a top Continental tire. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and provides more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran Breaker has no effect on rolling resistance.
