Kona Big Honzo DL red

The Big Honzo DL is exactly what the name suggests. It's a Honzo with bigger tires and a nice kit with hydraulic disc brakes and 130 mm suspension. Thanks to the 8-Zoll-Reifen tires, which absorb bumps with ease, you get a little more pressure. The comfortable geometry and adjustable seat post ensure that you are always in the right position on your bike, whether you are climbing the big mountain or riding down your favorite flow trail!

KONA 6061 Aluminum
Kona 7005 and aluminum alloys are used across the entire fleet of mountain bikes and asphalt bikes. Both Kona 7005 and 6061 are tough, durable and lightweight alloys that offer fantastic, reliable performance that will last for thousands of rides. Much of the 7005/ 6061-Rohre tubing is butted and/or shaped, meaning the wall thickness of the tubing can be increased or decreased and shaped, allowing Kona to fine-tune the strength and ride characteristics of a particular frame depending on its intended use.

Internal tax rate
The bearing shells are actually pressed into the frame and are easy to remove. An internal headset also reduces the stack height, so that the height of the stem and handlebars is more adjustable and the rider gets the best possible fit.

Tapered head tube
A larger circumference at the lower end of the head tube distributes the impact forces better, extends the life of the headset itself and eliminates brake judder, while at the same time providing safe steering behavior. The inherent strength of the triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control over rough terrain. A zero-stack head tube with a tapered cross-section puts the power where it is needed - in the lower headset shell - and maximizes the durability of the bearings where they are needed.

Tubeless-compatible rims
Tubeless rims enable tires with higher puncture resistance, lower tire pressure, which ensures better tire grip on the trail, lower rolling resistance and weight savings compared to conventional tube and tire systems.

12x148mm axle
The 12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards offer Kona riders two major advantages: The 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides a rigid interface between the rear hub and the frame, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be positioned quickly and correctly in the frame before the rear axle is inserted. For 2017, you will see the 12x148 Boost Standard in the mix. The Boost spacing offers more tire clearance at the chainstay yoke, while the rear wheel is stiffer and more durable compared to a 12x142-Steckachse thru-axle.

27.5" wheels
The advantages of 5-Zoll-R wheels are simple: They roll better over obstacles and track better than 26-Zoll-R wheels, but are more agile and nimble than 29-Zoll-R wheels.
