Mavic Crossmax XLS Front Wheel 29" Boost Disc 6-Bolt
Crank up steep climbs and bomb technical descents with the best all-round trail wheel that Mavic has ever built. The new Crossmax XL S is lighter and stronger, making tubeless setup a breeze.
You never know what the trail has to offer: steep climbs and breathtaking descents, hero dirt and rough rocks. Whatever trail characteristics and fun you find, the new Crossmax XL S is ready to roll. This best-in-class 29 "aluminum wheel features many of the proven technologies that have long made Mavic the innovation leader in MTB wheels.
The rims feature patented Fore technology, which features a fully sealed upper web that eliminates the need for rim tape. This saves 30 grams per wheel and eliminates the hassle of mounting tubeless tires with tape. We use ISM rim machining, which removes material in strategic areas of the rim to minimize weight without compromising strength. The rim has an internal width of 30mm, optimized to get the best performance out of any modern trail tire, and Black Shield technology gives it a distinctive finish that protects against scratches and abrasion. Mavic uses 24 straight-pull spokes to further optimize the sweet spot between lateral stiffness and vertical compliance. The Infinity hubs feature a stiffer and lighter construction complemented by the ultra-reliable ID360 dual ratchet system for quick engagement. The wheelset is designed for 6-bolt or center-lock disc mounts and is compatible with Shimano HG9, SRAM XD and Micro Spline freehub bodies.
Best trail wheelset in its class
Super strong rim with ISM machining minimizes weight without compromising strength.
More confidence and control on rough trails
The 30mm wide rim is optimized for lower tire pressure, giving you a smoother ride with more traction and control. The triangular rim shape absorbs hard impacts so you can enjoy the descents to the fullest.
The most user-friendly tubeless system
The fully sealed rim with Fore technology without rim tape makes it easy to mount and change tubeless tires. Leaving the upper rim web increases the stiffness and durability of the rim.
