The design of the Maxxis Ardent is geared towards plenty of traction, but doesn't forget the racer. Large block-shaped shoulder lugs bite into fast bends with many edges. Bevelled lugs in the centre of the tread minimise rolling resistance. The best test results prove the success of the concept.

MaxxPro 60a rubber compound
High traction combined with good rolling characteristics and very long service life. The secret of MaxxPro is the 100% perfect distribution of the carbon black molecules in the rubber compound. MAXXIS technology makes it possible to grind these molecules smaller and therefore arrange them more densely than in the compounds of other manufacturers. The result is a smoother tyre surface that lasts significantly longer than traditional compounds.

EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tyres. It is very densely woven, lightweight and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tyres remains convincingly good.

Foldable bead core
Rings made of Kevlar or another aramid fibre also keep the tyres securely on the rim. Lower weight and easy transport due to small pack size are advantages.
