Product description
Maxxis Ikon Folding Tyre 29x2.20" Dual TR EXO
A real racing tyre for real racers. Large volume, fast, with a lot of grip– the Ikon delivers exemplary performance in a wide range of soil conditions, on hard to loose soils. The 3C and eXCeption versions are particularly convincing on rocks and roots, even when it is damp. For very rough, rocky terrain, the Ikon 3C is also available in the Exo-Protection version, which safely protects the side walls with a slight extra weight. The Icon is now also available in many Tubeless Ready versions.
EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewalls of various MTB tyres. It’s very densely woven, light and very flexible. Thus the performance of the tyres remains convincingly good.
Dual Compound
Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. Maxxis plans the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired properties of the tyres.
Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure, giving better traction and reducing rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of a flat also decreases. Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other tubeless ready tyres. The bead of the Maxxis TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a real UST tubeless tyre. This means that the tubeless mounting of all rims with standard dimensions is already successful with the first inflation and with little liquid. Also normal Maxxis MTB tyres can be mounted like tyres of other manufacturers tubeless with sealant, because the carcass fabric is very dense. Officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by Maxxis, only the new Maxxis TR models are available. Tubeless assembly of other models is at your own risk.
