RockShox Suspension Forks

The RockShox lineup of suspension forks can be overwhelming at first glance. But, we can break down all of RockShox’s fork offerings into seven different categories of models:

• XC30 and XC32 - The XC30 and XC32 suspension forks are designed for entry-level mountain bikers on a tight budget. These forks have steel stanchions that add weight and coil springs rather than air springs.
• Argyle - The Argyle suspension fork line is designed for dirt jumpers and serious downhill riders who truly abuse their suspension. These forks are burly enough to dampen the hardest landings.
• Lyrik - The Lyrik fork is lighter than a triple-crown downhill fork, but built with downhillers in mind. The long travel and thick stanchions provide damping best suited to aggressive riding over rough terrain.
• Pike and Yari - The Pike and Yari forks are RockShox’s classic trail and enduro forks. They’re available in a wide range of travel lengths and offer plenty of adjustability for different riding conditions. The Pike is slightly lighter than the more budget-friendly Yari.
• Reba and Recon - The Reba and Recon are essentially high-end versions of the XC30 and XC32 fork lines. They offer around 100 mm of travel and only moderate damping, so they’re best for casual riding on easier terrain. The Reba is the more expensive of the two lines, featuring lighter construction.
• Sektor and Revelation - The Sektor and Revelation forks fall somewhere in between the Reba and Pike fork lines when it comes to damping and travel. They’re a popular choice for hardtail mountain bikes, but most full suspension riders will find it’s worthwhile to upgrade to the Pike or Yari.
• SID - SID forks are light, flexible, and springy. RockShox designed these forks with mountain bike racing in mind, so the damping may not be enough for downhill or recreational cross-country riding.

RockShox Rear Suspension

RockShox also makes a wide range of rear shocks, the most popular of which is the Monarch line. This air-sprung rear suspension is available in a number of different models, each of which offers slightly different damping capabilities.
