As soon as you operate the lever on the handlebars, the saddle lowers by up to 100 millimetres. Your centre of gravity will be lower and you’ll have more room to throw your weight into every turn with your legs and body. When doing so it can get muddy from time to time, so the cable is completely internally routed and thus protected from moisture. Of course, you can also ride this post (with appropriate adapters) on mountain bikes, but its true strength plays out on gravel (and road) bikes.
