When it comes to frames, Riva focuses on comfort, design and construction technology. That's why they are made of Cromoly, a special steel alloy of chromium-molybdenum 4130, which is also used in aeronautics and in the construction of vehicles for automobile competitions.
This material has mechanical properties that make it possible to build a light and resistant frame with smaller tubes that do not require reinforcements at critical joints and offer a refined look and greater ride comfort thanks to the combination of high resistance and low stiffness. This is possible because the mechanical strength of Cromoly is 80% higher than aerospace aluminium, which is stiffer and therefore less comfortable and prone to fatigue fractures.
