In combination with the very steep angle of the seat, every little bit of tread energy goes directly into the propulsion. Aerodynamics in frames, forks and running wheels are the most important topic for triathlon bikes. Carbon is therefore the first choice for most manufacturers, because streamline shapes can be implemented from this material without compromising stiffness or weight.
