you can cover many spoke sizes with it. only the grip area for the spokes could be a little larger. I haven't tried the extreme case yet, but I could imagine that you could twist the spoke if you put the holder too far on the hub and then turn the spoke nipple. Therefore my recommendations: just put it under the nipple twist, then nothing will twist and the part will do what it should :)
