Ready for Race
When developing a Gravity MTB shoe suitable for racing, the feedback from top professional athletes was pretty clear: both downhill and enduro racers want a protective and robust shoe that improves control over the bike while pedaling.
But apart from good controllability, they also wanted lightness and performance with a precise fit, a combination that is mostly missing in performance oriented shoes for Gravity mountain biking. Therefore, something unique was created with this shoe: A lightweight and agile, yet robust racing shoe that meets all the requirements of competitive downhill and enduro MTB riders.

Outsole and ride control on top
Let's start with the outsole. Along with the hands on the handlebars, the feet are a crucial point of contact when it comes to bike control. The Gravita outsole provides exactly the kind of connection you need for fast and aggressive Gravity riding. It combines the grippiest Vibram Megagrip rubber compound with a special zonal lug pattern. A shallow, tapered profile positioned in the midfoot provides direct contact and optimal mechanical connection with the pedal pins, while under the heel and toes a deeper, sharper profile provides better ground traction when you're on foot back uphill.

This flat pedal version is more flexible and can adapt to the pedal for maximum grip. Designed for minimal foot roll, it has a widened bottom to provide plenty of contact with wide platform pedals and more even load distribution.

Performance oriented fit
Both downhill and enduro races feature short, intense and powerful pedaling, whether sprinting out of the start gate or approaching the finish line. Proper foot tension and fit is essential to effectively transfer every watt of power. To avoid loss of power, Fizik has used decades of experience and knowledge in the development of custom-fit cycling shoes. For the Tensor, an ergonomic lacing system was developed that hugs the foot and distributes power evenly to the pedal. A power strap over the instep provides a secure fit, stabilizes the arch and locks the heel in place while keeping laces at bay.

Durable and offering protection
The Tensor was designed with a conscious effort to reduce weight and remove excess material that would otherwise lead to the clunky look and baggy fit of a standard Gravity shoe. To avoid this, the Tensor has a slim silhouette and minimal weight through the use of innovative rip-stop outer materials and an inner lining that is far less bulky than traditional alternatives.
In addition, this Gravity racing shoe is equipped with the necessary protection required for fast and rough rides: an injection-molded TPU-armored toe box fends off rocks and debris, while the raised inner ankle profile and a robust laminated scuff guard protect along high-wear areas.
