Lapierre Edge 5.9 – a mountain bike for touring and sports
The Lapierre Edge 5.9 is your faithful companion if you want to do sporty excursions to the woods. Nevertheless, it’s still suitable for everyday use – its geometry is comfortable and the suspension fork absorbs shocks. You can also retrofit a rear luggage rack for longer bike trips.
On 29-inch wheels, you can easily roll over obstacles like branches. You won't lose speed as quickly as with smaller wheels – ideal if you occasionally like to go fast. The rest of the components also help you ride rougher terrain. With hydraulic disc brakes, you can control your speed accurately and the clutch rear derailleur prevents chain drop, no matter how rough it gets. For longer uphill sections on forest roads, you can lock the fork suspension – so you get up the mountain without constantly bobbing up and down, wasting energy.
If you’re shorter than 1.75 metres and like to ride winding trails, you should consider the Edge 3.7, with its smaller wheels.

To the original
It had scratches in three places due to a mistake in the packaging. The front wheel got on the spots and damaged these spots. The gear shift was not as clean as it should be.
My bad luck that I ordered exactly 3 days before the sale and paid full price. I would have saved €270 if I had waited longer. Customer service did not respond to my request either...
